Spent our Friday afternooon here aafter class.  Took the metro down to Barceloneta, got lost asking people where the hole in the wall Ali’s parents told us we had to go to. Got lost giving other lost people direction to ZARA JAJAJA.  Anyways, this bar is literally a hole in the wall, snuggled tightly between stores selling cell phones and fake watches.  Upon entering, you are immediately engulfed in the pungent aroma of chorizo, bacon and heaven.  You have to fight your way to the bar to order but it is well worth it.  70 centavos for a glass of amazing cava.  4 euro for a bottle to share.  You can’t order a drink without ordering food, literally - you’re not allowed to .  A plate of chorizo cut up into bite size pieces with tooth picks on the side is the perfect compadre to a glass of cava.  The people here are true Spaniards going to their favorite  hole in the wall for an afternoon drink and food.. all of which can be no more than 2 euro a person.

That night, we went to Opium Mar - a club on the beach.

Saturday  - - went back to our favorite place and spent the rest of the day at the marina enjoying the sun and people watching.  Around 8, Ali B ran back to her house, which is conveniently located two blocks away from the FC Barcelona stadium, to see if she could find 4 cheap tickets for the game.  SUCCESS. The 3 of us were at Las Ramblas when she called and told us she got 4 tickets and that we all needed to run home, put on warmer clothes and get back on the metro to the stadium in under 40 minutes. - this is impossible.  3 of us got there early and went into a local bar for some beer and to watch the beginning of the game.  Once Janice arrived we ran down to the stadium and watched the game! IT was soo much fun . The stadium is huuuuuge and everyone was sooo into the game. Barca won! After that, we went to some bars around the university.  Sunday Ali B and I wandered around the barrio gotic and went to the textile museum - saw an exhibit of fashion photos and one about the history of HELVETICA.  We then went back to the Picasso museum, the best ever, and spent hours admiring our favorite Rose period.  We successfully took full advantage of the Free Museum Entrance First Friday of the Month in Barca.
